This piece is 5.25"wide x 2.25"high. This is a new glaze for my studio called Metallic Gold, but as you can see it is a deep bronze. Another quirk of ceramics and glazes; you just never know what you might get when you make a glaze from someone else's recipe. And it can be part of the fun. In this case it was a good surprise as I was hoping for deep, rich bronze tones. The bowl has areas of satin and matte in the glaze and a bit of a worn, polished leather look to the interior The exterior of the bowl is smooth, white, bare porcelain.
Like all my work it was thrown on the pottery wheel and fired to 2267 degrees. Each piece is one of a kind and every glaze is made from dry materials in my studio.
My work is primarily decorative, meant to be enjoyed by the eye and the heart. (Not meant for food)
