This piece is 7"wide x 3"high. This rich, lovely, dark olive green is made by combining 2 glazes and letting them melt together in the glaze firing. The results are so luscious! They do run, however, which can result in beautiful drama, like this bowl, or a doomed piece, welded to the kiln shelf.
This bowl has a fantastic "storm" in the bottom where the two glazes interact and pool in a light, swirling, maelstrom! This bowl is a real favorite.
Like all my work it is porcelain, thrown on the pottery wheel and fired to 2267 degrees. Each piece is one of a kind and every glaze is made from dry materials in my studio.
My work is primarily decorative, meant to be enjoyed by the eye and the heart. (though this glaze has been tested food and dishwasher safe.)
