This piece is 5.75"wide x 3"high. This bowl is a warm, smooth, bare grey porcelain with beautiful lines. The areas of gold leaf, on the interior only, were applied by hand after the final firing.
I like to recycle as much of my clay trimmings as possible and I sometimes experiment, adding pigment or stain while I process the dry clay for re-use. Recently, I have applied metal leaf to my grey clay experimentation and love the results.
My pieces are made from porcelain clay, thrown on the pottery wheel and fired to 2267 degrees. Each piece is one of a kind.
My work is primarily decorative, meant to be enjoyed by the eye and the heart. (The metal leaf is sealed but not intended for food or washing.)
