4.25"wide x 2.75"high. An incredible glaze result! One of my turquoise matte glazes over one of my white glazes (yes! I have several of each as I just cannot stop experimenting, I'm addicted to results like this)
Hard to capture in a photograph but as these glazes melted in the firing at almost 2300 degrees the mix yielded turquoise, dark grey and pink striations! Bubbly turquoise froth frozen in place and a halo of color reflected in the remaining white areas. The surface is sparkly and in places bubbly, with an all over velvety finish. There's sparkle and drama in this luscious little piece.
Like all my work it is porcelain, thrown on the pottery wheel. Each piece is one of a kind and every glaze is made from dry materials in my studio. I have tried many times to recreate this glaze result with minimal success. Only a few pieces turned out this wonderful. It's all in the alchemy of ceramics and part of the magic.
My work is primarily decorative, meant to be enjoyed by the eye and the heart. (Not meant for food.)
