This piece is 6"wide x 3"high. A bowl with a tall foot and an intense, matte blue glaze, while hard to capture in a photograph, has flecks of sparkle and a velvety finish. I mix two glazes together to elevate the sparkle in this piece and it really comes alive under the lights. It also tends to run in the glaze firing, but this one stopped in time. I love the drip! In this piece you can see a little of the white glaze peeking out from under the blue.
Like all my work it is porcelain, thrown on the pottery wheel and fired to 2267 degrees. Each piece is one of a kind and every glaze is made from dry materials in my studio.
My work is primarily decorative, meant to be enjoyed by the eye and the heart. (Not for use with food; my matte glazes can stain if used with dark liquids)
