A pretty bowl with an intense, matte blue glazed interior and a clear, glossy glazed exterior. I mix two glazes together to elevate the sparkle in this piece and it really comes alive under the lights. The activity of the blue inside this bowl is so striking! You can see all the movement of the melt during the 2300 degree glaze firing, and the puddle of intensity in the bottom.
Porcelain, thrown on the pottery wheel and fired to 2267 degrees. Each piece is one of a kind and every glaze is made from dry materials in my studio.
My work is form focused, meant to be enjoyed by the eye and the heart. (Not for use with food; my matte glazes can stain)
