4.5"wide x 3"high. An amazing glaze result! One of my favorites of all time!
A Turquoise matte glazes over one of my white glazes (yes! I have several of each as I just cannot stop experimenting, I'm addicted to exciting results like this)
Hard to capture in a photograph but as these glazes melted in the firing at almost 2300 degrees the mix yielded turquoise, dark grey and pink striations! As well as a glossy rim of warm amber. The surface is sparkly and a little bubbly, with a velvety finish. A really luscious little piece you will want to study up close.
Like all my work it is porcelain, thrown on the pottery wheel. Each piece is one of a kind and every glaze is made from dry materials in my studio. I have tried many times to recreate this glaze result with minimal success. Only a few pieces turned out this wonderful. It's all in the alchemy of ceramics and part of the magic.
My work is primarily decorative, meant to be enjoyed by the eye and the heart. (Not meant for food.)
