A stunning small piece with an amazing matte turquoise over white glaze. As these glazes melted in the firing at almost 2300 degrees the mix yielded light turquoise and grey striations as well as areas of white and even some pink tones! The surface is sparkly and in places bubbly, with an all over velvety finish. There is a lovely thick drip line around the bottom where the glaze bubbles and frothed but luckily did not run onto the shelf.
Porcelain, thrown on the pottery wheel. Each piece is one of a kind and every glaze is made from dry materials in my studio. I have tried many times to recreate this glaze result. Only a few pieces turned out this wonderful. It's all in the alchemy of ceramics and part of the magic.
My work is primarily decorative, meant to be enjoyed by the eye and the heart. (Not meant for food.)
