This piece is 5"wide x 3"high. A really lovely bowl that JUST survived the glaze firing! This intense, matte blue, sparkling glaze, while hard to capture in a photograph, has a shimmering surface and a velvety finish. I mix two glazes together to elevate the sparkle in this piece and it really comes alive under the lights. It also runs, and in this case stuck to the shelf but luckily released! I just love these drips!
Like all my work it is porcelain, thrown on the pottery wheel and fired to 2267 degrees. Each piece is one of a kind and every glaze is made from dry materials in my studio.
My work is primarily decorative, meant to be enjoyed by the eye and the heart. (Not for use with food; my matte glazes can stain if used with dark liquids)
