Bare, smooth porcelain. The surface of these pieces has a satin look to it and lovely glow on the black porcelain, which I make in my studio from recycled trimmings and mason stain.
Footless, nesting pieces. Separated, they will move and wobble with a light touch.
These bowls were fired rim down against the kiln shelf. As they shrink during firing the drag against the surface causes the pieces to go slightly out of round for a more organic, often geometric shaped rim.
